Help with Obion needed
«

Hello,
I use Obi100. Works great. Installed Obion and can make the calls.
Now have couple of questions :
1. When I start the Obion app, it takes long time till the app is running and I see e message "Ready"... Taking into account I run this usually on WiFi, I wonder what the problem might be here...
2. What do I need to do to allow incoming calls ring on Obion when the phone rings ? Is there an option for that ?
3. Can I install several Obion’s on different devices (iPhone, iPad, etc.) and make them all ring when there is an incoming calls ?
4. Since the Obion is installed on my kids phone (currently on one device), I would like to know if it would be possible instead of using the ObiTalk access credentials (id and password) to have other credentials set only for the Obion ? I know I can enter the password and then use the “save password” option, but still…is that possible?.
Thank you in advance,
Sam

1. I can't answer that. It might help someone else to answer if you said what device and OS it is running on.
2. There is no 'tick box' for that. On the OBi100 you need need to modify SP1, X_InboundCallRoute from
ph
to
{ph,pp(123456789)}
or
{ph,pp(123456789),pp(987654321)}
etc, where the numbers in brackets are the Obtialk numbers of the Obion softphones.
This is known as 'forking'. You can have up to 4 devices in the list. All will ring and the first to answer takes the call.
You can even do things like
{1234567890:pp(123456789)},{ph}
which will make calls
from
1234567890 ring
only
Obion123456789 and all other calls ring the phone connected to the OBi100.
Similarly, modify OBiTALK service InboundCalRoute if you want to route calls coming into the OBi100 via the OBiTALK network.
3 & 4
You can only have 1 logged-in softphone (eg OBion) number per Obitalk account*. You can have multiple Obitalk accounts which can have a softphone number, even if there is no Obihai hardware device in that account. Each account has different credentials.
(* If you try to log in a second Obion with the same credentials, the first one will be automatically logged out.)

Hello drgeoff,
thank you for your explanations.
Could you please elaborate more about points 3 and 4 ?
You mentioned " you can have multiple Obitalk accounts which can have a softphone number, even if there is no Obihai hardware device in that account. Each account has different credentials."
How can I define an additional ObiTalk account without having a physical hardware ?
I tried to do that by pressing "Add device" under "Obi Dashboard", but the system requested me to follow an Obi device registration (Connect a telephone to the OBi PHONE Port --> Connect the OBi INTERNET port to your internet router --> Power up the OBi )
Thank you !

No, you create
another account
at obitalk.com. (If applicable, log out of your existing account first, then you will get the log-in/sign-up page.) You do need to use a different email address as that is what distinguishes one account from another. You should find a 'ready to go' softphone number there when you log into it.

I created another account as you suggested, with NO hardware. I have the details for softphone B but can chose anything under "OBi Voice Gateway".
So the question is: can I defien 2 softphones with a single OBi Voice Gateway ?
If so, how can I do that ?
Thank you,
Sam

Log back in to the first OBiTALK account at obitalk.com and click on 'Circles of Trust, Requests & Invitations' (orange rectangle). Then go to the section 'Invite people to my circle of trust.' Mouse over the blue 'i' for more explanation. Enter the email address of the second account and click on 'Next'. Then log into the second account and accept the invitation.
Then (I think - I've never done this myself!) the Obitalk number of your OBi100 will appear in the drop down box for Voice Gateway in that second account.
(You don't actually need all of the above to meet your original requirements. Those just need the OBiTALK numbers. However, setting up the Voice Gateways for the two Obions enables them to call into your 100 and from there call out on your SP1 service.)
